Stereo speaker pair: 4 ohm pair more sensitive- efficient, or a 6 ohm pair?

It is not a matter of pushing.First you have to see the output impedance of your amp.If it is 4ohms then you will be able to use the full power of the amp with a 4ohms speaker,this means that a pair of 4ohms speakers have 2ohms in parallel(not good) and 8ohms in series(good but not reach the full power of the amp).If you want to use 2 speakers you mast match the impedance with the amp(for 4ohms use 2 speakers with 8ohms impedance connect in parallel).
To calculate the impedance use this:
1/Rout=1/R1+1/R2+……..1/Rx for parallel
Rout=R1+R2+………Rx for series
